FM spokesman: Iran installing new generation of centrifuges

Tehran, July 19, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Iran was installing a new generation of centrifuges in its nuclear facilities.

Talking to reporters during his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, he stressed the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, saying that all Iran’s nuclear activities were carried out under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He said all details of Iran’s nuclear activities were handed over to the IAEA, adding that the body’s officials were well informed about Iran’s nuclear activities.

Asked to comment on Iran’s proposed plan to settle the crisis in Libya, he said the most important thing about the current situation in the country was the condition of its people who were severely suffering from the internal conflicts as well as NATO attacks.

He said a popular government which would stand accountable to people and tend to their demands should be formed in Libya.

Mehmanparast stressed that any kind of foreign intervention would cause problems in Libya.
